Historic Preservation

In 1997 the National Commercial Builders Council awarded a National Award of Excellence to WBC for our work in converting the former Holy Angels Catholic Church into the Cathedral High School Performing Arts Center.

The project that resulted in the successful renovation of the Paramount Theatre in 1999 was recognized not only by the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce with a Kudos Award, but also by the American Preservation Society as an Outstanding Preservation Project.

Representative Projects

Freeborn Bank & Jacobson Building

This historic preservation project replaced and repaired broken and missing terra cotta tiles, tuck pointed and acid washed the exterior of the building, replaced all windows and doors, installed a new roof, added structural supports, installed patio doors, and filled-in old coal storage caverns in the basement. A skylight was also installed over an upper level internal courtyard. Read more

Paramount Theatre

Renovated in 1996, the Paramount Theatre is a 77,000-square-foot facility which seats 1,200 and includes adjoining offices and classrooms for the Arts District. Read more

Holy Angels Catholic Church was renovated in 1995 to become the 17,200-square-foot Performing Arts Center for Cathedral High School. Read more
